Hotel Suites and Accommodation
in St. Kilda Melbourne Australia
St Kilda offers a great selection of Hotels and Apartments, from inexpensive hotels for budget
travellers to luxury hotels for great week-end escapes and fully self contained serviced apartments
suitable for longer stays or corporate relocations.
Within a few years of its founding St Kilda became a fashionable and wealthy area and during
the 1880s St Kilda became a suburb of great mansions and palatial hotels, particularly along the
seaside streets such as Fitzroy Street, Grey Street and Acland Street.
The Network Ten television drama 'The Secret Life Of Us' was set in St Kilda, mostly around Acland
Street, Fitzroy Street and in the famous Esplanade Hotel. The influx of tourists and young backpackers
and the increased gentrification of the area over the past 5 - 10 years has lead to a modern diffusion
of the bohemian/artistic character of the area.
